David S. Cohen has had a fanatical interest
in cartoons, comic books, and video games since childhood, which
is why for the past 10 years he has worked extensively in the licensing
of those kinds of properties. Having plied his trade with companies
such as Warner Bros., DC Comics, Cartoon Network, Electronic Arts,
THQ, Midway, and Atari, Cohen has contributed to over 50,000 licensed
products and is credited in over 35 video game titles.
Cohen's
game credits include "The Matrix: Path
of Neo", "Batman
Begins", "Constantine", "Scooby-Doo: Unmasked", "Happy
Feet", "The Ant Bully", and "The Dukes of Hazard:
Return of The General Lee". In licensing,
he has worked with such IP's as Harry Potter, Superman, Looney
Tunes, The Powerpuff Girls, Thundercats, Scooby-Doo, Adult Swim,
and many more. These licenses have been developed into all types
of products such as action figures, plush toys, apparel, accessories,
housewares, gift items, and baby goods.
Cohen graduated with honors
from the University of the Arts in Philadelphia. In his spare time,
he has created numerous fine art pieces, including one acquired by
The Smithsonian Institute. Cohen also writes the Game Boy Guide section
for the New York Times' About.com web site.
